Yellow Chick's Equipment

My equipment is better than Brown Chick's. OK, so maybe not, but here it is:

KitchenAid Ice Cream Maker Attachment

KitchenAid 5-Speed Ultra Power Blender

  1. Does that ice cream attachment go on your Kitchenaide mixer? Very nice!

  2. I've never heard of this. I want to know how it works. All of the ice cream makers that I have reviewed so far said they made more of a soft-serve style ice cream. I have a Kitchen Aid.

Can I come sample your ice cream? :)

  3. The trick to making scoop-able ice cream is that you have to put it in a container to freeze in the freezer until firm or it will be soft serve coming straight out of the machine. It doesn't really matter which ice cream maker you use.

I've made two ice creams this week in my Cuisinart and both times they were soft serve until I put them in the freezer to harden. The ice cream maker gets the ice cream really cold and puts air into it, so that when you freeze it it isn't a hard lump. It's like ice cream from the store that you can scoop.

Of course you can come taste it!

  5. I'll let you know how I like the ice cream maker attachment. I'm pretty excited to try it, but it did receive mixed reviews.

  6. I really like the ice cream maker attachment for my KitchenAid mixer, but I am a little concerned that even on the slowest setting it's churning too fast. My first ice cream seemed VERY whipped and when frozen was rather crumbly. But it tasted awesome! We'll see how it goes next time.
